ABC picks up 'Flash Forward'

ABC has officially picked up drama "Flash Forward."

The show, which already is being promoted on the network, received a 13-episode order Friday night.

Based on Robert J. Sawyer's novel, the Joseph Fiennes-starring series chronicles the aftermath of a global event in which everyone in the world blacks out for 2 minutes, 17 seconds and has mysterious visions of six months into the future.

David Goyer and Brannon Braga co-wrote the pilot for "Flash," which Goyer directed.

Both will exec produce the series, but because of his commitment to Fox's "24," where he is an exec producer, Braga won't be involved full time on "Flash."

Jammer dat na de eerste twee, drie afleveringen de vergelijkingen met echte personen in 'real life' werden gecancelled. Heerlijk om die photo stills te zien van Clinton, Bush, OJ Simpson etc.

Ja maar zoals je ziet in het begin heeft het geen betrekking op echte personen en gebeurtenissen waarschijnlijk is daar gewoon aan gefotoshopt en hebben mensen daarover geklaagd.

FOX picks up 'Human Target, 'Sons of Tucson'

Project based on DC Comics title lands series order

Fox has picked up comic book drama "Human Target" and single-camera comedy "Sons of Tucson" to series.

"Target," from WBTV, DC Comics and Wonderland, emerged as an early front-runner and was the best-received pilot at the network's screenings last week.

Based on the DC Comics title, the show centers on Christopher Chance (Mark Valley), a mysterious freelancer who offers a unique form of security for hire: He assumes the identities of people in danger, becoming the "human target" on behalf of his clients.

Jackie Earle Haley and Chi McBride co-star in the project written by Jon Steinberg and directed by Simon West. The two exec produced the pilot with McG.

"Sons," from 20th TV and J2TV, also was an early favorite at the network.

In the spirit of "Slums of Beverly Hills," the project stars Tyler Labine as a charming but misguided hustler hired by three young brothers with considerable resources to act as their father while their real one serves prison time for a white-collar crime.

Frank Dolce, Davis Cleveland, Troy Gentile and Natalie Martinez co-star in the comedy penned by Tommy Dewey and Greg Bratman. Dewey and Bratman exec produce with Harvey Myman, Jason Felts and Justin Berfield. Todd Holland directed the pilot.

"Target" and "Sons" join previously picked-up animated comedy "Cleveland" and dramedy "Glee."

Also hot at Fox, which will open the upfront presentation marathon in New York on Monday, are drama "Past Life" and comedy "Brothers." On the bubble front, cult favorite "Dollhouse" is still in contention.

'Reaper' may live on
Studio in talks with CW affiliates about syndication

Thought "Reaper" was dead?

Well, think again. Like some of the undead creatures on it, the quirky CW dramedy with a rabid fan base is refusing to die.

Sources said show producer ABC Studios is in talks with CW affiliate stations about continuing "Reaper" as a syndicated series for Sunday night.

The law-rated "Reaper" has been pretty much canceled at the CW. But most stations are said to love the series starring Brett Harrison as the Devil's bounty hunter.

So when the network recently decided to give Sunday night back to its affiliates, they started preliminary conversations with ABC Studios about possibly continuing the show with original episodes.

Sources said that ABC Studios also is exploring a possible afterlife for the cult series on cable.

Both scenarios are considered a longshot.

First, there is the economics issue as a syndicated series is generally produced on a lower budget than a network series.

Secondly, "Reaper" creators/executive producers Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters have moved on, recently inking an overall deal with 20th TV.

And then there's Tyler Labine, the actor who plays Herrison's sidekick. He is set to star in the newly picked up Fox comedy series "Sons of Tucson." There are conflicting takes on whether Labine would be contractually obligated to "Reaper" if it changes formats from a network to a syndicated show.

But even if he is still tied to "Reaper," Labine headlines a new series, and if he is brought back to his old show against his will, that would be unfortunate for him and a big blow to "Tucson."

Since its midseason return for a second season, "Reaper" has averaged about a 1.0 rating in 18-49, ranking as the network's lowest-rated drama.

But with the network's current programming on Sundays consisting of "Jericho" returns and MGM library movies, averaging below a 0.5 in recent weeks, "Reaper" could potentially improve the slot.

His brother CHILL (Daryl Chill Mitchell), whose life was altered drastically after a car accident left him in a wheelchair, is struggling to keep his restaurant afloat with the help of his loudmouth associate, ROSCOE (Colton Dunn, MADtv). The dynamics between Mike and Chill are the same as when they were kids, and their sibling rivalry hasn't lessened with age. If they can stop their bickering, put aside their differences and learn to be teammates, the brothers might just turn out to be each other's biggest asset. (CPFTFC) Wedged between Mike and Chill are their parents. Their father, whom everyone refers to as COACH (Carl Weathers, Rocky), is the local high school football coach and the conservative, opinionated alpha male of his clan. Coach thinks he runs the show, but really it's Mom who calls the shots. Saucy, stern and a schemer, she is the mastermind of the family. And when she learns that Mike's business manager took off with all his money, she orchestrates a plan to keep Mike in Houston, save Chill's restaurant and bring the family back together under one roof again all without anyone realizing what she's up to. Mom's plan helps Mike realize that his family however dysfunctional they may be is the only family he's got. And although he may not have a penny to his name, as long as he's surrounded by people who love him, he'll always be a rich man.

Klopt, Lost zal begin 2010 weer terugkeren met het laatste seizoen.

Klopt, Lost zal begin 2010 weer terugkeren met het laatste seizoen.

Was te verwachten, dit seizoen begon ook in januari dit jaar.
