Both of the Williams cars were fastest in the first practice session, Nico Rosberg was first with Kazuki Nakajima in second. Third was Kimi Räikkönen's Ferrari, while Barrichello was fourth in a Brawn car. McLaren's Heikki Kovalainen was fifth, a long way ahead of team-mate Lewis Hamilton, who could only manage 16th.Button was sixth in the second Brawn car, while Felipe Massa of Ferrari was seventh, with Toyota driver Timo Glock rounding out the top eight.
