Meanwhile, Dana needs to build a good birdhouse or her entire GPA will drop and Al needs to write a book report on Tom Sawyer. They decide to switch assignments until Brendan points out that it is cheating. After the disappointment with JT and Brendan telling him that working for him would be a punishment, Frank is delighted to see Al's birdhouse. Frank and Al walk off talking construction.
