In mid-2015, AMC turns its attention to the mafia with newly announced miniseries “Making of the Mob: New York.” Produced by Stephen David Entertainment, the mini will air eight hourlong episodes. Beginning in 1905 and continuing for 50 more years, the docu-drama follows the original Five Families — including famous mobsters Charles “Lucky” Luciano, Meyer Lansky, Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel — that formed the modern American mafia. It will use a mix of scripted scenes and archival footage in addition to special effects and interviews with experts.
